Favorite Fall Diffuser Recipes – Plus Other Uses for Each Essential Oil

Fall is seriously my favorite season, even with the rain. My favorite days are the cool crisp days versus the soggy rainy days, but I love all things fall: the colors, the excitement of the upcoming holidays, the ease with which I can find good hot apple cider, warm fires, cuddling up on the couch with a blanket and the smells; fall is the best.

Currently we are in the process of replacing our flooring throughout the entire house, so most of my things are being shuffled from room to room and are not where they’re supposed to be. Because of the current state of construction my home is under none of my fall decorations were put up this year, which is a little disappointing given my fall décor tubs are not that much smaller than my Christmas tubs. Did I mention I love fall? With no decorations up, I have been using my diffuser A TON to fill my house with all the fall goodness.

Before I hop into the recipes, I do want to make a quick note about the oils I use. If you’ve been around me at all or as you may quickly learn, I am a huge fan of Young Living Essential Oils and they are all I use in my house. To shop for the oils I mention below click here.

Ok, now on to some of my favorite diffuser blends for the fall season.

Fresh Fall Air
3 drops Thieves essential oil
2 drops Peppermint essential oil
1 drop Cinnamon Bark essential oil

Holiday Spice
3 drops Thieves essential oil
2 drops Stress Away essential oil
1 drop Cinnamon Bark essential oil

Spice Cookies
3 drops Orange essential oil
2 drops Stress Away essential oil
1 drop Cinnamon Bark essential oil

Autumn Leaves
Equal parts each:
Christmas Spirit
Stress Away
Thieves
Clove

Depending on your diffuser size and how often you use oils I would start with one drop of each and the max I would use is two drops of each.

What else can you do with these oils?

Now, we know essential oils smell amazing (well, some of them), but essential oils have tons of other uses and if you’re going to purchase an oil you might as well get more use out of it than just a nice smelling house.

Here are some uses for the oils listed above aside from diffusing for their aromatic properties:

Thieves
Thieves is a blend of oils with antiviral, antiseptic and antibacterial properties, it is used in a multitude of Young Living products including their household cleaner, toothpaste and more. Thieves can be used with baking soda or with water and vinegar to clean and deodorize and helps support the immune system when diffused or used topically with a carrier oil.

Peppermint
Peppermint oil can be a very uplifting scent, but it also has other uses as well. If you’re using the Vitality line a drop of peppermint on your tongue can help ease an upset stomach as well as freshen your breath. Peppermint is also great for sports massage and topically after a workout or even before a workout for an energy boost.

Cinnamon Bark
Cinnamon Bark has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and a circulatory stimulant. Cinnamon can be used with a carrier oil for a warming sensation during massage or combined with lemon oil and soapy water to eliminate odors in a garbage disposal or drain.

Stress Away
As the name might indicate Stress Away can help relieve stress and promote relaxation. Stress Away is one of my favorite oils to improve my mood, make me feel centered and calm my nerves. If I am feeling stressed I put a drop of Stress Away on my wrists, rub them together and then inhale.

Orange
Orange is a pleasant scent to most people and is known to boost energy and mood. To refresh linens or clothes, try putting a few drops of orange oil in a spray bottle with an ounce of distilled water or witch hazel.

Clove
Clove oil can be used to help prevent the signs of aging, promote cardiovascular health, and to help numb all sorts of pain. Clove can also help stimulate sleep.
