Ashlee Mecham

Hi all, and welcome to my blog! I’m Ashlee and I live in Salem, Oregon with my husband, Damian, our two dogs, Maddox and Korben and our beautiful daughter, Iris. I’m a Real Estate Agent with a love of all things home, design, DIY and, as you might have guessed, wine and coffee.

I have lived in Oregon most of my life and I love it here. I met my amazing husband when we were sophomores in high school and we started dating our junior year. It’s still surreal to me to see where we are now and how much we just love the life we’ve built. I did not believe in high school sweethearts. In fact, I told all of my friends who said they were going to marry their high school boyfriends how silly they were, but when I went to college and Damian joined the military, I realized I was wrong. Damian and I wrote letters back and forth for 13 weeks as our only form of communication and held a long-distance relationship that made it through bootcamp, trainings, a deployment and three years of my undergraduate schooling before tying the knot in March of 2011. Even then, I had to finish school in another state so I went back and forth between California and Oregon during my breaks from school until he finished his active duty contract and we settled in Salem in 2012.

After 13 years together Damian and I welcomed our daughter Iris into our lives. Iris has brought us so much joy to us already and you’ll see plenty of glimpses into my life as a working mom here as well. I am also a totally shameless dog mom and I hope to add more animals to our pack as time goes on, currently we have plans for ducks and chickens and I would love to add some goats into the mix if Damian ever gets on board. For now we have Maddox, a purebred lab and Korben, a lab mix (1/8 heeler and 1/8 great dane, ¾ lab) and you’ll see their faces pop up here as well.

Here I hope to share with you many of our home improvement projects as we work to renovate our 1970s home, homesteading tips as we make use of the food we grow on our property and, of course, a wealth of knowledge about real estate plus whatever else may come up as I navigate this crazy thing called life.
